ABOUT ME

I was born in Belgium in 1976. Even as a child, drawing was far more than just a pastime for me – it was my means of expression. Nothing has changed in that respect to this day. For me, art is not a profession, but an inner necessity. It gives form to my thoughts, my doubts, my hopes and my imagination.

My studies as an illustrator gave me the technical foundation. However, I only truly found my own path when I began to let go of rules and trust in experimentation. Since then, I have seen every new work as a journey of discovery. I am not looking for repetition, but for development.

For me, materials are not tools – they are conversation partners. Whether paint, wood, clay, stone, bronze or steel – every material has its own language and opens up new possibilities. I combine them intuitively, break with convention and allow for chance. Often a piece begins with a clear idea, but it is only during the creative process that it reveals to me where it truly wants to lead. It is precisely this uncertainty that brings my work to life.

For many years, I have been captivated by the world of motorbikes and cars. It is not just the engines or bodywork that fascinate me, but the interplay of technology, design, speed and history. A vehicle always tells a story about the people who created, drove or admired it. I try to bring these stories to life.

In my art, precision and intuition merge. I think like an engineer and work like an artist. I am drawn to the combination of technical sophistication and emotional expressiveness – that is where something new emerges for me.

Every piece should be more than just an object. It should make the viewer pause, spark their imagination and invite them to look more closely.
That is precisely what drives me: to create works that are not merely viewed, but experienced – works with character, depth and a soul of their own.
